Vem, Mama Gie and Max taking part in the Cancer Care, in Bangkok

The Terry Fox Run happens every November 1st/2nd all around the world, in praise the young canadian that engaged himself on a journey to cross the whole Canada just to raise awareness and funds to fight against cancer. Unfortunately, Terry Fox was not able to complete his trip… but his mission was very succesfull, since its name is now synonimous of hope to all cancer patients.

The Terry Fox Run in Bangkok (called Cancer Care) was just a few blocks away from the Malaysian Embassy, so we, including Max, stopped by to be part of the event, with Max leaving his bike for a while to run instead.

Photos Comming Soon!

Hi everyone!

I am sure that all of you must be anxious to see some photos of Max and Chuah on their trip. Max already send us some photos via Photobucket, but for whatever reason, the photos are being posted in very low resolution (160X100) and we are still trying to solve the problem. Anyway, Max will be reaching Bangkok in two days and wiil meet us in event specially planned to receive him at the Malaysian Embassy. On that opportunity, we will have access to the photos, which we will post for you here.

The Cycling Dutch Girl

Yesterday we were pleased with the visit of Mirjam “Clycling Dutch Girl” Walterz to our office! The girl is Max’s friend and was present to his flag off in Ipoh. Just to make you aware, she has been cycling for 19 months, through 25 countries, and is now heading to Singapore! Her plans is to arrive to Brazil in the next two years, cycling from Australia back to Siberia to Alaska, and from there all the way down the Americas.

We included a link to her weblog on ours! Now that she is crossing Malaysia, you can find out here impressions about the country, or follow her along the way! Just take a look at the right bar!

Armstrong, mind you!

Max’s trip to raise funds and awareness around Cancer is creating a real hype! Yesterday we received a call in our office asking if “Is it true that Armstrong is cycling to raise funds for MAKNA? I heard on TV that he would start cycling from Lankawi!”. Well, our cyclists are not as famous as the american champion and cancer survivor, but they are equally brave and generous! So, if you to give your support, you can leave your message, or do a donation through our website. Just go to www.makna.org.my and look for the CancerCycle logo!

News from our heros!

So, it has been 5 days since MAKNA’s CancerCycle flag off in Ipoh last Saturday and you must be eager to know where our cyclists are know, right?

Max and Chuah arrived yesterday to Thung Song. Although they had to face the weather (sometimes having to stop due to the heavy rain), they are on schedule and really enjoying the trip! It is already more than 400 km!

Max told me that he will keep us updated with photos as soon as he find a place to upload them. We all hope to see them very soon! Max is really enjoying the comments on the blog, sometimes I send some of the comments through SMS so he can read them! So, pleasde, keep giving moral support to Max and Chuah!
